I’m always searching, and wondering the world wide web for amazing women to watch. I am over-the-moon-can’t-get-enough of these four women. I have literally spent the last month watching their every move.

Inspiration comes in many ways, and sometimes that’s taking a close look at the money YOU CAN make.

When you begin the process of becoming an entrepreneur – there are a lot of unknowns, and one of them is MONEY. We all need it, we all want it — and it definitely helps us live the life we desire. When I went searching for women who reached a certain amount I specifically chose 50k because that’s the MOST I made in my corporate job (eek!) and I was year 7 when I left.

Meet our women to watch this month who are all crushing’ it online and having a lot of fun doing it. Here’s what I did pre-Business owner (GIS), scroll down  I am totally quoted in the Airdrie City View 😆.

Ladies, gents and my fave peeps meet Elise Danielle.

Please tell us — what are three things YOU DID specifically to help reach that 50k goal in the first year of business?

1) I decided that it was possible for me and I was meticulous with focusing my energy and mindset on that!
2) I got really really good at creating content that provided value, created a connection to my people and was intentional with what next step I wanted them to take.
3) I mastered conversions. I found a simple way of doing non-sleazy sales and I focused on that until it was a well-oiled machine!

What would you say to someone who is ‘hesitating to follow their dream….because they aren’t sure they’ll make the money”

That they’re guaranteed to not make the money if they don’t at least try.

I see it as a choice. Whilst we can never guarantee ANYTHING in life, at the end of the day we get to choose what would feel better to us, is it giving it a red-hot crack and seeing what comes of it or is it saying nah, not worth it.. Neither is right but making this a conscious choice is the key to doing what’s right for you and not lying in our final days wondering “what if”.

What was your least favourite part — about getting to 50k (what happened that was kind-of not fun)

I was fortunate to hit over the 100k mark in 10 months. What people didn’t see was that I dedicated A LOT of time, energy, money and hard lessons to get that “overnight success”. And it wasn’t comfortable OR certain. It took a lot of mindset work, a lot of investing in myself and a lot of feels. Sometimes it was not so fun but it was still always worth it.

Please tell us — what are three things YOU DID specifically to help reach that 50k goal in the first year of business?

1. I experimented with new income streams — I was burnt out by selling 1:1 services so I added in new income streams like affiliate income and groups.

2. I did the stuff that I was avoiding (because of possible rejection) — i made offers to people to work with me and invited people on sales calls instead of waiting for people to magically find me on the internet and just send me money on their own haha

3. I did market research calls + actually found out what people wanted and were willing to buy so I could create it and sell it rather than creating things that i just THOUGHT they wanted — this was huge and allowed me to get momentum and sell out a new program and book out $10k in income.

What would you say to someone who is ‘hesitating to follow their dream….because they aren’t sure they’ll make the money”

I would honestly reassure them that it’s a normal fear and support them in identifying all the reasons that they will be able to make the money — I think that it is so important to be aware of your mindset and to really work towards changing those negative thoughts — they will continue to come up but just be mindful of them and work on replacing them!

What was your least favourite part — about getting to 50k (what happened that was kind-of not fun)

My least favorite part was how difficult I made it for myself by not having clear goals or an action plan — truthfully I made very little money in the first half of the year and made most of it in the second half when I actually took the time to create a clear plan for all of it.

I wasted a lot of time and then had to scramble to make up for it! It would have been so much easier if I had clear goals from the start.

Please tell us — what are three things YOU DID specifically to help reach that 50k goal in the first year of business?

1. My story starts two years before BSchool of 2018. I just walked out of my crappy job and swore I’d figure out a way to make money on my own. I came up against lots of mental blocks not long after starting to freelance, so I started listening to podcasts that empowered me to take action. Specifically- I soaked in the podcasts and blogs of Lewis Howes, Marie Forleo, Gary Vaynerchuk and Mel Robbins.

2. I did a S.W.O.T. analysis on myself and took online classes that would create more opportunities and enhance my strengths. It’s amazing what you can learn from youtube and $10 per month with Skillshare.

3. I employed the famous Mel Robbins 5-Second rule to enroll in Bschool. The combination of everything is figureoutable from Marie and the 5-Second Rule from Mel truly enabled me to make bold moves. I said YES to many things before being perfectly ready. I just knew I could figure it out and it would be OK.

What would you say to someone who is ‘hesitating to follow their dream….because they aren’t sure they’ll make the money”

Action creates money. You’ll never learn what you need to learn and meet who you need to meet when your dream stays inside your head. You have to put action behind your desires, even if they’re baby steps. Put hundreds of those steps together and you wont recognize yourself in just a year. Also, give yourself permission to succeed AND to fail. We’re so afraid of failure. But failures get you to where you’re supposed to be and it’s ok to skin your knees a little.

What was your least favourite part — about getting to 50k (what happened that was kind-of not fun)

Like I said before, I said YES before being perfectly ready A LOT, so I felt sick during some projects. I was learning on the fly. Digging into everything I could to make it happen. Sometimes I wanted to give up. Sometimes I cried. But I kept pressing on in faith that everything truly is figureoutable and it was going to be OK. It was exhausting. I remember being SO OVER LEARNING. I just wanted to open up my head and dump all the information inside at once. I was frustrated with the PROCESS sometimes. But it was soooooooooo worth it. It’s worth the struggle and it’s amazing how family members and friends are impacted as they watch you dig in your heels, grit your teeth and get it done. I’m SO excited to take it to the next level this year. Really trudging through my first year taught me a lot about what I truly want to do and who I want to work with.

I stood consistent no matter how much I felt like a failure

I allowed my strengths of positivity & motivation to be what takes over

I permitted myself to feel worthy of the run. People don’t share enough how tough it really is to believe in ourselves. I allowed myself to say, “I am worthy of owning my own company, being successful in it, and I will do it now.”

What would you say to someone who is ‘hesitating to follow their dream….because they aren’t sure they’ll make the money”

The more you hesitate, the more you really don’t make any money. PLAN, then RUN.

What was your least favourite part — about getting to 50k (what happened that was kind-of not fun)

Omg how unprofessional I looked! I had no idea how to build a website so it was soooo tacky. I had all these great ideas, and no way to organize them. And was terrified cuz I was betting on myself with my 401k. Even though I kept running, it showed in the energy, and presentation. I made sure in my rebrand process when reviving my practice how I wasn’t gonna be that sloppy with it again. The past two years have been of a true experience that may finally get us on the map in 2019, because of how I chose to revise my least favorite part of the journey. I’m grateful for it. 🙂
