Ladies, we all know that feeling of creative overwhelm – you wake up, send kids off to school — have a tiny burst of energy from that second cup of coffee, and then all of a sudden you open the computer or head to the craft room – and NOTHING comes up.

Last night when you tried to fall asleep your to do list was a million miles long & you couldn’t wait to work on the business, but this morning  you just can’t seem to work it.

Ohh been there done that – and that’s when you give yourself permission to do three things:   Delegate, Dive Out  & Disconnect.

Let’s start with the delegate piece, you may not have a team, or anyone around you that fully understands what it is you. do all day in your business – but this is more about delegating YOUR time.

Delegating your time:

Brain dump on a piece of paper all the things that are coming up for you. From laundry to blogging….to reaching out to that person that e-mailed you last week. Cross off anything that really doesn’t have to happen today (be honest, it may look like you’ve got a lot on there – but I bet you can wait to respond to that e-mail or waste time of Facebook)

Delegate one task:

Look at that list – can you order groceries, or get a friend to pick up the kids from school? Make the choice to let go of one thing one task that will help you a tiny bit get back into the groove of your idea & business.

Second Dive Out:

This is all about PLAY. Dive out of your idea for a little bit. Leave the house, get dressed, go have coffee with a friend. YOU playing is going to be the best thing for your idea and business. If you aren’t sure what play looks like anymore (because this happens!) grab another piece of paper and write down things you would do if money, time and location was no issue. ANYTHING and all the things, sometimes the art of writing it down sends us into PLAY mode.

Disconnect:

Ladies, being on the  computer and the phone right now are going to serve NO purpose except wasting time (go back to DIVING out and playing!). They are the. distraction you don’t need. I suggest powering down, letting them die, & putting them in a place you won’t constantly see them. Everything you want to do in your business and idea — can be done LATER. If you try to work now, while you have no biz energy — it’s going to get ugly.

This story shared on Entrepreneur.com speaks to me – take a read I think you’ll enjoy.

So ladies, entrepreneurs and creative geniuses there ya go — I practice these three at least once a week (because the creative world can get chaotic!) I disconnect, I dive out of the biz to play and I delegate! It’s time for you to give yourself a little space — if you’re not feeling it that’s okay, try the three things above and shift gears. I can’t wait for you to get back into the groove of things xo
